Working with homeless sexual offenders
About this project
Crisis are a national charity who work with homeless people to help them get off the streets and progress to security in housing, employment and other aspects of their life. They came to TDI because they were coming into contact with sex offenders through their progression work and wanted to know how they should respond.
TDI designed a bespoke training course focusing on how to deal with offender denial and minimisation of their offences, how staff can support offenders to move beyond their offending behaviour and how staff can look after themselves in what can be a very emotionally challenging job.
As well as being available as a bespoke course, it has informed a TDI Explainer, a Bitesize training course and an Open course.
Help us maintain the excellent work we do
TDI achieves everything it does with a small staff and a shoestring budget, almost entirely from income raised by our own activities. Would you like to support our work with a one-off or recurring donation?
